David Baruthio and his culinary team from BARU 66 in Windsor Heights, Iowa are the creatives behind the restaurant on the first floor of the Bricker-Price Block, The Hare + the Hound. David has long-time dreamed of opening a space in rural Iowa, and the Bricker-Price Block allowed him the opportunity to do just that.
Early in 2019, the restaurant hosted a soft opening featuring their quick-fired artisan Italian pizzas, hearty soups and salads. They’ve now expanded their menu to include a pork buster sandwich, pasta entrees, quesadillas, BBQ ribs and dessert pizza. Their signature cocktails have become a very popular menu item among patrons! The environment is family-friendly yet cozy booths and a sit down bar allow for the perfect setting for a special dinner date.
General Manager, Sara Hill says she plans to continue expanding the menu with some old-time favorites and some more culinary explorations.
