Position Overview

Bricker-Price Block is seeking a creative, organized, and community-focused After-School Program Coordinator to develop, lead, and oversee engaging after-school programming for students in grades K–5. This part-time position is responsible for creating enriching educational and recreational experiences, fostering positive relationships with families and community partners, and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.

This position averages 15–20 hours per week, with most hours scheduled during after-school programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate after-school programs and activities for elementary-aged youth.

• Develop engaging educational, creative, cultural, and recreational programming.

• Supervise participants and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

• Build and maintain effective communication with families, instructors, volunteers, and community partners.

• Recruit, schedule, and support guest instructors and volunteers as needed.

• Maintain program schedules, attendance records, and other required documentation.

• Assist with marketing and promotion through social media, flyers, newsletters, and community outreach.

• Prepare program spaces, supplies, and materials before activities and ensure spaces are cleaned and organized afterward.

• Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements for future programming.

• Support the mission, values, and community engagement initiatives of Bricker-Price Block.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or youth development settings.

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Creative, adaptable, and community-oriented approach to program development.

• Successful completion of a background check.

• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within a designated timeframe, if not currently certified.

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods (up to 2 hours) while supervising activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Mandatory Reporter certification (or willingness to obtain).

• CPR and First Aid certification.

• Experience coordinating volunteers or community partnerships.

• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

• Experience using social media platforms to promote programs and community events.
